Netholi Thoran - Anchovy Stir fry

We had got a lot of Netholi (Anchovy) from market. Amma divided it into three packs and stored in refrigerator. The first pack was used to make deep fries (yumm) and the second one was used to make a curry with mango.  So today my dad and I were wondering what she is going to do. Being at home on this maternity break is a bliss that I needn't make all the curries and some long forgotten ones like this will be made by Amma. So here is the recipe for this tasty stir fry with fish.

Ingredients

  1. Anchovy - 250 gm ( Remove the head and tail)
  2. Bird's eye chili - 10
  3. Ginger - 1 small piece
  4. Garlic - 4
  5. Curry Leaves
  6. Turmeric Powder - 2 tea spoons
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Cooking Oil
  9. Mustard seeds
  10. Grated coconut - 1 cup
How to Cook?
  1. Cook anchovy along with turmeric and salt with just enough water.
  2. Crush ingredients #2 till #5
  3. Once anchovy is cooked well and water is just about to evaporate away, add crushed ingredients from #2.
  4. Stir well till water is evaporated and ingredients are well cooked.
  5. Take a pan, heat oil and splutter mustard seeds. Add this to the cooked anchovy.
