Jack-fruit (Chakka) is an easily available fruit in my neighborhood Most parts of this wonderful produce can be utilized except the hard shell. Ripen ones makes a great snack in the evening. Raw ones can make excellent side dishes for lunch or dinner.

- Raw Jackfruit flesh
- Turmeric Powder
- Bird's Eye Chilly (Kanthari Mulaku)
- Salt
- Grated Coconut
- Curry Leaves
- Cumin Seeds
- Garlic
How to Make?
- Boil water with turmeric powder and salt.Keep the water to minimum. Intention is to cook jack-fruit in this. If needed, water can be added later.
- Once the steam starts coming, add crushed garlic, cumin seeds, kanthari mulaku and curry leaves.
- When water reaches boiling point, add jack-fruit flesh and wait till jack-fruit is cooked well.
- Now , switch off the burner and add grated coconut and mix the ingredients well.
- Drop in couple of coconut oil for that authentic taste and aroma. You can avoid this step if needed.
Enjoy this with , spicy fish curry or chicken/meat curry and rice.
