This is my 50th post to this blog :) I would like to mark this by preparing a simple, one-pot, healthy Indian dish - Upma :) Good as breakfast as well as Dinner. I served this last night to my family.
- Semiya - 500 g, broken to medium size length.
- Tomato - 1 Medium size, finely sliced
- Green Chilly - 1 , finely sliced
- French Beans - 10, finely sliced
- Carrot - 1 Medium size, finely sliced
- Curry Leaves
- Coriander Leaves
- Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp
- Salt to taste
- Cooking Oil - 1 Tbsp
- Mustard seeds and Dried red Chilly for seasoning
How to Make?
- Heat oil in a Kadai and add mustard seeds and when it splutters , add curry leaves and dry red chilly.
- Now add the cut vegetables and saute , till all are half cooked.
- Then, add turmeric powder and saute till the raw smell has gone.
- Now add Semiya and saute. Continue till semiya is roasted well.
- Now add water , to just cover the contents in the Kadai and add salt and close the lid.
- Once water is evaporated, keep the Kadai open and continue to cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add chopped coriander to this and fluff with a fork.
This is now ready to be served. Enjoy with crunchy papadams.
